Brevard Blue Ducks News Release
Melbourne, FL â One team came into the game Tuesday night at the Clemente Center with a record of 48-2 over the past five years in Florida league play â including area championships in each of their five seasons. The other carried a total of two games under their belts as a unit, though having won both.
But all that didn't matter to an energized Blue Ducks squad that took it to the more experienced team all game. Utilizing a trapping defense and their usual balanced attack the Blue Ducks broke open another close game in the second half en route to their 3rd victory.
Point guard Anthony Slater once again led the attack, this time registering a triple-double with 23 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds. Earl Hines led the Ducks in scoring with 24 points to go along with 10 rebounds. John Lamers had his best game as a Blue Duck, narrowly missing a double-double with 19 points and 9 rebounds. The Blue Ducks placed six players in double figures.
The All-Star Dynasty were led by Charlie Simons who totaled 28 points â three under his season average. Marcus Polarchy netted 24 points to go along with 10 rebounds.
The Ducks play again Thursday night against Orlando FastBreak, USA in a rematch of the first game of the season â a 120-108 victory.
