Blue Ducks to play in Orlando Summer League
July 7, 2003 - United States Basketball League (USBL)
Brevard Blue Ducks News Release
Orlando, FL â Emerging star LeBron James, who the Brevard Blue Ducks picked in the 2003 USBL annual draft will not be the only Blue Duck making his NBA debut in the Orlando Summer League tomorrow afternoon.
Ducks center Ousmane Cisse will be part of the Orlando Magic squad squaring off against the Cleveland Cavaliers tomorrow night at 7:00 PM at the TD Waterhouse Center.
Cisse was picked up by the Ducks in mid-season and was a big hit in Brevard, scoring often with an assortment of power dunks and leading the league in blocked shots, including a season-high 12 against the Adirondack Wildcats in June.
In 10 games for the Blue Ducks, he averaged 12.8 PPG, 8.2 RPG and had 40 blocked shots.
"We're very happy for Ousmane," said Blue Ducks President, Mike Richman. "He's not only terrific on the court, he's a terrific person off the court as well. We wish him all the luck and success in the world."
The Detroit Pistons will also have a couple of Blue Ducks on their team tomorrow. Guard Donta Richardson (6'2"/170 lbs. â Wyoming â03) and forward Raheim Brown (6'10"/220 lbs. â Florida Atlantic '02), who played for the Blue Ducks last season, will be helping the Pistons as they take on the Minnesota Timberwolves at 5:00 PM.
