Blue Ducks set pre-season camp schedule

Melbourne, FL – The Brevard Blue Ducks begin a new era Saturday as new head coach, Nate "Tiny" Archibald holds his first team practice at 7:00 PM at the Clemente Center at Florida Tech.

"I know the players are eager to get going," stated Blue Ducks owner, Mike Richman. "I think Nate's as eager as they are too."

The Blue Ducks will play a summer schedule this season with games being held in June and July. The season schedule will be released soon, but the Ducks have released a pre-season practice schedule. Practices will be held at the Clemente Center in Melbourne. All practices are open to the public.

Blue Chicks dance squad to join Blue Ducks in appearance this Friday at Melbourne's FridayFest

Dancers to hold one last audition next Sunday

Melbourne, FL – The Blue Chicks, the Brevard Blue Ducks dance squad will join the Blue Ducks basketball team in their first public pre-season appearance at this Friday's "FridayFest" in Melbourne. The Chicks are scheduled to perform at 7:00 PM at the fest, which takes place in the downtown area of Melbourne as both the dance team and 2005 Blue Ducks squad introduce themselves to the community.

Area dancers will have one last chance to try out for the 2005 Blue Chicks dance squad Sunday, April 22nd as the Blue Ducks announced they will be conducting one last audition for the squad that dances at Blue Ducks games and appears in community events throughout the year.

Blue Chicks captain, Natalie Cox, a 3-year Blue Chicks veteran, will hold a dance workshop which will take place from 10:00AM to 12:00PM. Registration is at 9:30 AM. The cost will for the workshop is $25 with advance registration, $30 at the door (sorry, no checks). The workshop fee includes the audition, which will be held immediately after the workshop.

There will be an extra twist to the workshop and auditions this year: They will be video taped and are planned to be shown on TV as part of a Blue Ducks highlight television show expected to begin airing this spring.
