Brevard Blue Ducks News Release

Melbourne, FL – The Brevard Blue Ducks today announced the signing of veteran power forward Derrick Miller, who played for the team last year.

The 6'8", 230-pound player from Georgetown (KY) averaged 13.3 points and 7.8 rebounds per game for the Blue Ducks in 2004, including a season-high 20 rebound effort at home against the Oklahoma Storm on June 6th. His lengthy wingspan and jumping ability also enabled him to tally 1.6 blocked shots per game for the Ducks.

"We are extremely pleased to have Derrick back with us," commented Ducks player personnel director, Derek Howard. "He provides us with a proven presence on the inside and we feel he will only get better."

The Blue Ducks are a member of the United States Basketball League. The USBL is an independent minor league that has sent over 140 players to the NBA in its 20-year history. Stars such as Avery Johnson, Spud Webb, Anthony Mason, Charlie Ward and former Orlando Magic player, Darrell Armstrong all got their start in the league. Newer NBA players such as Moochie Norris (Knicks), Ira Newble (Cavaliers) and Devin Brown (Spurs) also got their start in the league.

The Blue Ducks will begin their fourth season in April. For tickets or information, call (321) 751-BLUE or visit their website at www.BrevardBlueDucks.com.
