January 26, 2004 - United States Basketball League (USBL)
Brevard Blue Ducks News Release

Melbourne, Florida – Due to a scheduling conflict, the Brevard Blue Ducks open tryouts, originally scheduled for Saturday, March 27th at the Clemente Center at Florida Tech in Melbourne, has been moved up a week to Sunday, March 21st.

"We apologize for any confusion," said Mike Richman, Ducks owner. "But we wanted to make sure we had the entire gym for the day."

The Blue Ducks hold open tryouts each year prior to the start of their season, which gives amateur basketball players a chance at turning pro.

Tryouts will begin at 9:00AM and will run all day. Registration is at 8:15 AM. Cost will be $125 if registered and paid in advance, or $150 at the door. Checks will be accepted only if paid in advance.

The Blue Ducks are a member of the United States Basketball League (USBL), which serves as a minor league to the NBA. In its 18-year existence, over 140 players have graduated from the USBL to the NBA. Stars such as Avery Johnson, Spud Webb, Monute Bol, Mugsy Bouges, Chris Childs, Anthony Mason and Darrell Armstrong all got their start in the USBL.

For a tryout registration form or for more information, visit the Blue Ducks website at www.BrevardBlueDucks.com or call (321) 751-2583. Registration forms are also available at the Clemente Center at Florida Tech. The tryouts are open to the public to watch.
