Blue Ducks bow to Brooklyn

Brevard Blue Ducks News Release

Brooklyn, NY – Change is for the better.

That's what the Brevard Blue Ducks must keep telling themselves. A day after a major overhaul to the team, the Blue Ducks were competitive and combative on their first road trip, but fell to the Brooklyn Kings, 116-111.

Falling behind 38-28 in the first quarter, Brevard fought back and closed to within six at the half, 63-57. The Ducks however, could never overcome the deficit in dropping their twelfth game of the season.

Brevard shot over fifty percent from the field for the game and out rebounded Brooklyn 47-37, but turnovers were once again a problem. The Ducks had 26, with Shannon alone turning the ball over eight times.

Brooklyn was paced by Lenny Cooke with 31 points. Fred Williams chipped in with 24.

Brian Taylor had a game-high 32 for Brevard. Terrence Shannon netted 21 but was only 5 for 16 from the field.

Newcomer Marvin Rogers had 15 points on 7 for 8 shooting for the Ducks.

Brevard has an immediate chance at revenge as they take on Brooklyn again tomorrow night. With their roster changes behind them, they can only hope for better times ahead.
