
Blue Anchors Announce First Player to Return

Alexandria-MN - The Alexandria Blue Anchors, a member of the Northwoods League, have announced the return of catcher Aaron Gretz.
Gretz, a junior at Ohio State University will return for his second season with the Blue Anchors is looking to build off a solid 2013 campaign. During the 2013 season he played in 46 games while hitting .261 in a 161 at bats.
"I'm excited to have another summer to learn from Newmie about how to play the game the right way and to learn what it takes to win a Northwoods League championship." Says Gretz "Playing baseball in Minnesota gives me extra pride because that's where I grew up and I know how much baseball is loved in the state of Minnesota."
In 2013, Gretz had a fielding percentage at .996 - earning him the Rawlings Finest in the Field at his position.
"Aaron is a quality catch and throw guy and he has the ability to call a quality game," Says Al Newman, field manager. "We look for him to be solid behind the plate and a contributor on offense for us this upcoming summer."
Aaron is currently on the Ohio State men's hockey team also.
The Blue Anchors will start the 2014 season on Tuesday May 27th at home versus the Mankato Moondogs.
The Alexandria Blue Anchors are a member of the finest developmental league for elite college baseball players, the Northwoods League.
