
Bloomington Blaze Sign Granbois, Rechlicz

The Bloomington Blaze, presented by Mid-Illini Credit Union, have signed a returning utility man and a physical defensemen as training camp nears.
Travis Granbois (GRAN-bwah) returns to Bloomington after playing here last season. Granbois is 6-1 and 200 pounds, and is a native of Campbell River, British Columbia. Granbois is primarily a forward, but can be utilized on defense. He played 65 games for Bloomington last year, collecting 12 goals and 14 assists with 131 penalty minutes. He also played in Bloomington during the 2008-09 season. This is his sixth professional season.
Mark Rechlicz (REK-lish) is a former Bloomington opponent, having played for the Quad City Mallards in 2009-10 and briefly last season with the Fort Wayne Komets. The 6-4, 193-pounder is known as a tough defenseman who can fill a role as enforcer. This is his fourth professional season.
The Blaze open training camp on Monday, October 10. Two pre-season games are scheduled for the weekend before the season opens. The Blaze will face the Missouri Mavericks on Saturday, October 15 at 7 p.m. at iWireless Center in Moline, Illinois, then return home for a Sunday, October 16 contest at 3 p.m. against the Evansville IceMen at U.S. Cellular Coliseum. Tickets for the Sunday contest are $5 and will be sold as general admission. The regular Central Hockey League season opens on Saturday, October 22 against the Dayton Gems at home at U.S. Cellular Coliseum.
The new Bloomington Blaze, presented by Mid-Illini Credit Union, play in the 14-team Central Hockey League. Tickets for the 2011-2012 season are now on sale by calling 309-434-2980. The Blaze offices are located at U.S. Cellular Coliseum, 101 S. Madison St. in downtown Bloomington.
