Blizzard Split Road Trip
March 11, 2013 - North American Hockey League (NAHL)
Brookings Blizzard News Release
The Brookings Blizzard have come home from the weekend road trip with a split against Bismarck and Aberdeen.
On Friday the Blizzard beat the Bismarck Bobcats, 1-0, in a shootout. Drew Weigman stopped all 45 shots in regulation and overtime then stopped all five shootout attempts for his 19th victory of the season. Thomas Williams scored the lone goal in the fourth round of the shootout.
Saturday night was a different story as Weigman gave up two power play goals in the first period and the Blizzard fell to the Wings 2-1.
Etu Karvinen cut the lead to one with his second of the year midway through the third, but that was it as the Blizzard fall six points behind Bismarck in the race for second place in the Central Division
They'll host Coulee Region Friday and Saturday night at the Larson Ice Center. Watch the action at 7pm each night on fasthockey.com.
