Brookings Blizzard News Release
Sioux Valley Elementary had a "Blizzard" on their first day back from Christmas vacation! This isn't what one would think of for a regular "Blizzard". The elementary was presented a reading challenge from the Brookings Blizzard Hockey team! Members of the Brookings Blizzard team came to SV Elementary School for the Kick-off of the January Reading Blizzard Event. The hockey players visited each classroom and presented the reading challenge for each grade level. The payoff? Each student who reaches his or her reading goal during the challegne will receive a free ticket to attend a Brookings Blizzard Hockey game on February 7, 2014! The student who reads the most will also be honored by dropping the opening puck before the game.
