
Blizzard Erupt in Minot

The Brookings Blizzard have salvaged a weekend split winning 7-4 Saturday night at the Maysa Arena in Minot ND. Brookings shook off a 4-2 loss Friday night, a game in which they outshot Minot 37-21, with a huge 7-4 victory. Tyler Cayemberg scored his third goal of the year two minutes in to spark the Blizzard. Craig Lindegard assisted on the goal. Seven minutes later Eric Brenk tipped in a Drew Brevig blast from the point for his 14th of the year. Jordan Steskal also assisted on the goal. With a 2-0 lead Connor Anderle opened the second with his first goal of the year receiving a pass from Justin Moody on his back hand and beating Minot goaltender Tyler Parks's high glove side. Minot got on the board half way through the second period, but that's when Aidan Cavalinni caught fire. Cavalinni scored three goals in the final six minutes to give the Blizzard a 6-2 lead heading into the third period. Drew Wiegman recorded his 10th win of the year stopping 36 shots. Brookings is tied with Minot for third place in the Central Division. The Blizzard host Aberdeen New Year's Eve at 7pm. Watch the game on fasthockey.com
