
Blitz's Yearwood Dies During Game

Bakersfield Blitz FB/LB Julian Yearwood collapsed in the team bench area during tonight's game against the Wichita Stealth at Kansas Coliseum in Wichita, Kansas. After numerous resuscitation attempts, Yearwood was pronounced dead at Via Christi St. Francis Hospital at 9:37 p.m. CT.
Everyone in the Arena Football family offers their sincerest condolences to Julian's family and the entire Bakersfield Blitz organization.
Due to the profound impact Yearwood's situation had on everyone at the arena, including players and coaches, AFL Commissioner David Baker, in consultation with arenafootball2 Executive Director Jay Marcus, postponed the game indefinitely.
