Bloomington Blaze News Release

The Bloomington Blaze, presented by Mid-Illini Credit Union, has signed Travis Granbois for his third consecutive year with Bloomington hockey.

Granbois (pronounced "GRAN-bwah") will be joining returning forwards Jon Booras and Matthew Larke as well as defenseman Aaron Dawson. Last season with the Bloomington Blaze, the British Columbia native scored 24 points (10 goals, 14 assists) in 60 games. He spent 100 minutes in the penalty box last season after racking 131 penalty minutes in the prior campaign. Granbois is primarily a forward but can be utilized as a defenseman.

Granbois started out his professional career with the Quad City Mallards in 2006, and also played in Kalamazoo and Muskegon before arriving in Bloomington.

Travis Granbois was recognized by the Blaze as the Player's Player at last season's final game on home ice during a pre-game ceremony. Blaze Coach Brian Gratz admires Granbois' professional character and reputation. "Granbois is a gritty forward that is difficult to play against," said Gratz. "His work ethic and character is exactly what we are looking to bring back to Bloomington."

Opportunities for sponsorships and season tickets for the 2012-13 season are still available. For more information, call the Blaze front office at 309-434-2980. Supporters and fans can follow the team on twitter (BLMBlaze), at www.bloomingtonblaze.com or on Facebook.
