
Blaze Prepare To Take On Archrival Arizona On Friday

SALT LAKE CITY - The Utah Blaze (5-2) continue their quest for an ArenaBowl championship when they take on the Western Division rival Arizona Rattlers (1-6) on Friday, April 20 at EnergySolutions Arena at 7 p.m. The game will be shown locally on KJZZ 14 with DAVE FOX and ALEMA HARRINGTON serving as talent, while the game can also be heard on 1280 The Zone with KEVIN GRAHAM and SCOTT GARRARD calling the action.
"Championship teams take care of business within their division," said head coach/general manager DANNY WHITE. "The Western Division is one of the toughest, so we need to make sure that pick up as many victories as we can."
This will mark the fifth meeting between the two teams where Arizona leads the series 3-1. White is 1-3 head-to-head against GENE NUDO.
Four-time Offensive Player of the Game and leading candidate for Offensive Player of the Week honors, QB JOE GERMAINE, completed 184-of-261 passes (71.6%) so far this season. In the first seven games, Germaine has thrown for a league-leading 2,346 yards and 52 touchdowns (No. 2 in the league) with only three interceptions. Rattlers QB SHERDRICK BONNER is 164-for-255 (64.3%) passing for 1,997 yards, 40 touchdowns and five interceptions.
Despite having missed one game in 2007, WR SIAHA BURLEY is currently ranked No. 2 in the AFL in receiving yards (877) and is tied for No. 2 in touchdowns (21). On defense the Blaze are led by DB CLARENCE LAWSON who has recorded 33.5 tackles, five pass breakups, two forced fumbles and one interception.
The Rattlers are led by WR TRANDON HARVEY who has recorded 47 receptions for 628 yards and 13 touchdowns. On defense, Arizona is led by DBs JOE TODD and KEYUO CRAVER. So far this season, Todd has recorded 41.0 total tackles, two interceptions and three pass breakups. Craver has tallied 39.0 tackles, one interception, vie pass breakups and two forced fumbles
1280 The Zone will broadcast the Utah Blaze Show on Wednesday night from 7-8 p.m. at Ruby Tuesdays (West Valley). SCOTT GARRARD will host the show along with guest appearances WR/DB ORSHAWANTE BRYANT, WR TOM PACE and All-Arena WR SIAHA BURLEY.
