Blaze Goaltender off to AA Camp

Rolling Meadows, Illinois - The Chicago Blaze are proud to announce that goaltender Adam Dekker has agreed to attend the training camp of the Muskegon Lumberjacks of the International Hockey League. Adam was the first goaltender signed to the Blaze roster for the 2009 - 2010 AAHL season. The 25 year old Dekker brings AA experience to Chicago after playing last year with the Flint Generals and under Coach Steve Pronger in the IHL. Prior to that Adam has played for Wichita in the Central League and with Richmond in the Southern Pro League.

The 6'5", 205 lb. Muskegon, Michigan native will join the Lumberjacks camp on October 4th and will hit the ice the next day for full team workouts. Blaze owner Aaron Mattey says about Dekker, "We are very pleased that Adam has been awarded this opportunity and believe that he has the talent to be there. Our purpose is to develop and send players to the next level of play and I am sure he is only the first that will have this chance to impress at the AA level. We wish Adam the best and hope he performs like we know he can."

Blaze training camp officially opens at West Meadows Arena on October 12th with times announced at chicagoblazehockey.com and concludes on Saturday October 17th as we host the Madison IceMuskies for an exhibition game at 7pm. All practice sessions are free and open to the public who may meet the players and coach and purchase season tickets at the arena box office.
