September 15, 2019 - Major League Lacrosse (MLL) - Atlanta Blaze News Release

Atlanta, GA - The Blaze fell to the Boston Cannons in a lopsided victory in their final home game at Atlanta Silverbacks Park. Atlanta is now locked in as the fourth seed in the 2019 MLL playoffs.

Boston responded just thirty seconds later as Kyle Jackson found the lower post of the next off of an assist from midfielder Cal Dearth. The two teams would battle back and forth in a high-intensity first quarter that ended with a 3-4 Boston lead.

Boston used goals from Challen Rogers and Ryland Rees to build to a 3-9 lead late in the second quarter with a 2-pointer from Rees capping five unanswered points from the Cannons. The Blaze got much-needed goals from Shayne Jackson and Bryan Cole as they attempted to keep pace with the Cannons, who led 5-10 at halftime.

After returning from halftime, Boston sparked another seven goal run to put themselves comfortably ahead in a decisive 9-19 victory over the Blaze.

"Hats off to Boston, they played a great game today," Head Coach Liam Banks said. "They scored a couple of goals in transition including a couple two-pointers. Those are always hard to recover from."
