
Blaze Fall in Fourth Quarter to the Visiting Lizards

Kennesaw, GA-The Atlanta Blaze (3-3) fell to the New York Lizards (3-3) tonight at Fifth Third Bank Stadium, 17-20, despite a strong showing by Kevin Rice who had three points and three assists for a total of six points. Rookies Connor Kelly and Christian Cuccinello also had strong Major League Lacrosse debuts with two goals each.
Daniel Eipp, Jeff Reynolds, and Matt Gibson backed up Rice and the rookies with two goals apiece. After the loss, the Blaze rank fourth in the league.
In his first game with the Atlanta Blaze, newly acquired faceoff specialist Joe Nardella (formerly of Boston) tipped the scales of possession the Blaze's favor, winning .575 percent of his faceoffs. Despite this, the Lizards came out on top, thanks to a seven-point performance by Will Manny and two goals by Paul Rabil who tied the league's record for most in a career, matching John Grant Junior with 541.
The Blaze are in action again Saturday June 9 at 7 p.m. against the first-place Charlotte Hounds. The Dog Days of Summer game will feature pet adoption tents and the ability to bring your dog to the game. Tickets are available at AtlantaBlaze.com/Tickets
