Atlanta Blaze News Release
Despite a tight game in the first half, the first-place Charlotte Hounds took the game
Kennesaw, GA- The Atlanta Blaze (3-4) fell to the visiting Charlotte Hounds (6-2) last night at Fifth Third Bank Stadium, 13-19, despite a strong showing from Kevin Rice who put up four points and four assists as well nineteen faceoff wins by Joe Nardella. Chris Madalon put up a fight in goal, saving 22 of 40 shots.
Reliable offensive staples Matt Gibson and Deemer Class both registered hat tricks, accompanied by Dan Eipp, Tommy Palasek, and Nardella. Eddy Glazener led the team in ground balls (5) while Liam Byrnes and Scott Ratliff registered four apiece, proving to be effective on the wings.
Madalon took the cage over Adam Ghitelman, the typical starting goal tender, and though he was left open in fast breaks, he played up to his usual high standard.
The Blaze are back home on Saturday June 23rd at 7 p.m. against the Dallas Rattlers. The game will be a celebration of our military and first responders including those who are the family of Blaze players. Tickets are available at AtlantaBlaze.com/Tickets
