Bakersfield, Calif.- New weekly specials and more Fireworks are the theme of the Bakersfield Blaze 2008 promotional calendar. Returning to the weekly lineup are fan favorites Thirsty Thursday presented by Miller/Coors ($1 12 oz domestic draft beers/12 oz can sodas) , the Friday Family Fun Pack, and Kids Day Sundays. New weekly promotions include Micro Monday, ($2 12oz Micro Brews on tap) Tecate Tuesday ($1.50 12oz Tecate cans) and Must-Win Wednesday.
Special promotions this season include the Field Trip Day Game presented by Mercy & Memorial Hospitals (May 14), Halloween in June (June 13), Blaze Jersey Cinch-Sack Giveaway present by Del Taco (June 14), Backwards Night (June 21), Christmas in July (July 19), 50's Night (August 1), Election Night (August 2), Oildale Night (August 16), and the Wal-Mart TV an Inning Giveaway (August 23).
The 2008 season starts Thursday, April 3 when the Blaze host the reigning California League Champion San Jose Giants. Scheduled events for opening weekend include Thirsty Thursday, April 3; Magnet Schedule Giveaway Night present by Wells Fargo, Friday, April 4; Fireworks presented by Steve Holloway Painting, Friday, April 5; and Kids Day Sunday, April 6. The Blaze will also hold firework shows on Memorial Day Weekend, Saturday, May 24; Independence Day Week, Thursday, July 3; and Fan Appreciation Weekend, Saturday, August 30.
Single game tickets go on sale Monday, March 24 at 9:00 AM. Tickets will be available for purchase over the phone at 716-HITS, or at the Blaze Ticket Office located at Historic Sam Lynn Ballpark 4009 Chester Avenue. Prices include Dugout Box Seats, $9, Box, $8, Reserve, $7, and Bleachers, $5.
