Reading Rockets News Release
Reading, PA - October 11, 2012 - The Reading Rockets forward Travis Bland has been named the PLL Player of the Week for Week Four. The Georgetown, Ontario native notched a pair of goals and nine assists in an 18-17 OT loss to Jacksonville on Saturday to raise his season total to 17 points (6 goals, 11 assists) in two games.
The Rockets' Assistant Captain played for Ajax in CLA this summer, posting 44 points (16 goals, 28 assists). Rockets teammates Brendan Muise and Jesse Guerin also spent time with Ajax this summer. The trio looks to get the Rockets into the win column this weekend against the Charlotte Copperheads.
"Obviously, this is a nice honor for me personally, but, as a team, we're looking to get the win this weekend. That's our focus," said Bland.
The Rockets continue their inaugural season home schedule on Friday, November 9th against the Charlotte Copperheads at the Sovereign Center in downtown Reading. Everyone is encouraged to join in the support of our nation's military for Military Appreciation Night. Portions of ticket sales and a portion of the proceeds from the postgame jersey auction will benefit Keystone Wounded Warriors and the VA Hospital in Reading. Tickets can be purchased online at www.rocketslax.com and through the Sovereign Center Box Office.
