Take A Breath: After successive three game weekends, the Mississippi Surge gets a bit of a breather in its recent hectic schedule. The Surge hosts the Louisiana IceGators Wednesday at 7:05 p.m. and then travel to visit the Mississippi RiverKings Saturday at 7:05 p.m.
Worth the Wait: On Sunday the Surge had a three hour delay as bus problems prevented the Huntsville Havoc from getting to the game on time, but it was worth the wait for the Surge which won 5-1. That came after a 5-3 loss in Pensacola on Saturday, and a convincing 5-2 road win against the RiverKings on Friday.
Big Strides: In spite of a delayed start fans still showed up strong at Beau Rivage to help the American Cancer Society Make Strides Against Breast Cancer at the Pink in the Rink jersey auction Sunday night. Along with Beau Rivage, other Surge partners in Pink in the Rink were Garden Park Medical Center and WLOX-TV.
Silvia Strikes: Jay Silvia had a good scoring touch on the weekend. He tallied a total of six goals and two assists in the three games. Silvia was also +5 on the weekend. He registered a hat trick (and had one assist) in Sunday's win over Huntsville.
