Buffalo, NY - The Buffalo Bisons beat the Richmond Braves 16-3 Friday at Dunn Tire Park. The Bisons overcame four errors with a 19-hit attack to vanquish the Braves for the second straight night.

The Bisons actually trailed 1-0 in the fourth inning when the Braves Scott Thorman smashed a home run for the second straight night. However Buffalo responded with four runs in the home half. Jason Cooper doubled two runs home. Jorge Velandia knocked in a run with a single. Michael Aubrey capped the inning with a sacrifice fly. The Braves pulled to within a run in the fifth with a pair of runs thanks to an error and a Brandon Jones fielder's choice. The Bisions again stretched their lead with three in the bottom half. Velandia singled a run home, Aubrey knocked in a run with a fielder's choice, and Todd Linden knocked in a run with a single. The Bisons blew the game open with four runs in the sixth to open up a 11-3 lead. Morgan Ensberg scampered home on a wild pitch and Aubrey smacked a three run homer. The Bisons tacked on five more runs in the eighth. Linden singled a run home. Jordan Brown doubled in two. Chris Gimenez knocked in a run with a single and the final run scored on a double play ball.

Jeff Weaver picked up the win. Matt DeSalvo took the loss. Velandia had four hits and Aubrey knocked in five runs for the Bisons. Enrique Cruz had three hits for the Braves.

The Braves and Bisons meet again Saturday at 7:05. Chuck James will start for Richmond against Bryan Bullington. Richmond is next home July 25 vs. Lehigh Valley. For more information on Braves tickets please call 359-4444 or visit www.rbraves.com.
