Dakota Bucks News Release

The Bismarck Bucks indoor football team kicks off training camp on February 18, a little more than two weeks prior to its season opener against the Kansas City Phantoms on March 9, and a week before a preseason scrimmage February 25 at the Bismarck Event Center.

"It's one of the most exciting times of the year, and one of the most nerve-wracking," head coach Richard Davis said. "We have a good combination of veterans and newcomers in camp."

Among players reporting for camp are five decorated Bucks veterans: wide receivers Elby Pope (6-0, 195) and Jauhem Byrd (6-0, 175), offensive lineman Deon Paulson (6-4, 325), defensive back Antwan Smith (5-11, 180) and linebacker Jarelle Miller (6-2, 245).

Pope was the first player ever signed by the Bucks. He had 47 catches for 599 yards and 11 touchdowns and ran 19 times for 78 yards and three TDs last season. Byrd was sixth in the CIF in receiving with 46 catches for 709 yards and 16 touchdowns and ran for two scores. Smith had one interception, 76 tackles and three tackles for loss and Miller made 76 tackles, 2.5 sacks and 10.5 tackles for loss.

More signees will be announced in the coming days.

Practices are open to the media and the public. The best time for media access to Davis or individual players is immediately before or after practice.

Season tickets are available now at www.bismarckbucks.com or by calling 701-595-0771.
