MONTGONERY, Ala. - The Biscuits will end the first half of the 2016 regular season on a high note after winning the final game before the All-Star break, 5-3, over the Chattanooga Lookouts on Sunday afternoon at Riverwalk Stadium.

Taylor Guerrieri (6-4) was on the mound for Montgomery and the right-hander did not disappoint tossing another quality start allowing just three runs in six innings of work while striking out two. Guerrieri is now the first Biscuits pitcher to tally six wins this season.

The right-hander fell behind early, 1-0, thanks to a sacrifice fly by Dan Palka, but in the bottom of the first, the Biscuits would even the score on an RBI-single by Patrick Leonard off Chattanooga starter Kohl Stewart (1-2). In the bottom of the second, Pat Blair stepped up and ripped an RBI-double over the head of center fielder Shannon Wilkerson to give the Biscuits the lead for good, 2-1.

Mike Marjama would lace an RBI-double of his own in the bottom of the third, and then a sac fly in the fifth. A wild pitch made it a 5-1 Biscuits lead, and a two-run home run by Mitch Garver in the sixth proved to be the final runs of the first half, as Ryne Stanek and Kyle Winkler combined to pitch three shutout innings in relief, with Winkler recording his first save of the season.

The Biscuits are now off for the All-Star break but will start the second half of the year with a five-game series away at the Biloxi Shuckers beginning on Thursday night, June 23.
