TODAY'S NEWS
After practice, the Iron content team caught up with RB Trent Richardson. Seven days into camp, Richardson is one of the offense's top leaders and a respected voice on the team. Richardson helped set the tone for the Iron with his physical running style during a joint practice with the Salt Lake Stallions on Friday.
IRON TRANSACTIONS:
The Iron signed DB Jack Tocho (North Carolina State) to the active roster on 1/11/2019.
The Iron waived DE Dante Sawyer (South Carolina), P Ryan Anderson (Rutgers) and LB Jonathan Hagler (Jacksonville State) on 1/11/2019.

The Birmingham Iron team headquarters while in training camp in San Antonio is the Gustafson Stadium.
PLAYER ALLOCATION PROCESS: The Iron are allocated players who went to college at Alabama, Auburn, South Carolina, Mississippi State, Louisiana Tech, NC State, Maryland, Missouri, Alabama-Birmingham, South Alabama, Troy, Alabama A&M, Alabama State, Jacksonville State, Samford, Miles College, North Alabama, Tuskegee and West Alabama.
The Iron are allocated players who played professional football in the National Football League and Canadian Football League. NFL teams include: Patriots, Bills, Browns, Steelers. CFL teams include: Montreal, Ottawa.
NFL If a player's college is outside the Alliance location footprint AND he did not play in the NFL or CFL, then he is "unallocated" and available to be tendered a contract by any Alliance team.

The Iron compete in The Alliance of American Football with The Atlanta Legends, Orlando Apollos, Memphis Express, Arizona Hotshots, Salt Lake Stallions, San Antonio Commanders and San Diego Fleet.

Iron is one of three elements needed to make steel and make no mistake: This team is all about chemistry, both on the field and in the community, not to mention brings together rivals in the talent-rich state of Alabama, with players coming together in black, steel grey and silver.
