BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Alliance of American Football's Birmingham Iron today announced its partnership with Greater Birmingham Habitat for Humanity in an effort to make a positive difference in the community.

"Greater Birmingham Habitat for Humanity is excited to have been selected as the Birmingham Iron's nonprofit partner," said Patricia Burch, Greater Birmingham Habitat for Humanity Executive Director. "Their identity of being a blue collar, hard working team exemplifies the work our families do to be able to purchase a home through our program. We are excited to help build and revitalize communities with the Birmingham Iron."

On Tuesday, March 12 at Legion Field, members of the Iron front office and current players will be framing walls for the future Birmingham Iron home that will house a family from the Birmingham area.

The Birmingham Iron support for Habitat for Humanity is part of The Alliance's broader commitment to social responsibility, known as the Heart of the Alliance.

"The Birmingham Iron along with the Alliance of American Football are glad to be a part of the fabric of this community and giving back," said Jay Roberson, Iron Vice President of Community Relations. "We are looking forward to partnering with Iron players, volunteers and Greater Birmingham Habitat for Humanity to start building a home. America's Dream is home ownership, and we are working together as a team of volunteers to fulfill this dream for a local family."

The Heart of the Alliance includes multi-platform league-wide campaigns, team initiatives and player and staff community service efforts to increase awareness, funds and action on critical causes.

In its inaugural season, The Alliance is focusing its efforts on honoring service of our military, veterans, first responders and their families; championing kids by boosting education, wellness and opportunity; strengthening communities by getting food, housing and other services to people in need; and advancing positive social change by promoting civil and human rights and healthy relationships.

In addition to Habitat for Humanity, The Alliance and its teams are partnering with diverse national and local nonprofit organizations to have greater results and lasting impact.
