August 30, 2016 - NBA G League (G League)
Reno Bighorns News Release
RENO, NV ---- In preparation for the 2016-17 NBA Development League season, the Bighorns will hold a second open player tryout in Sacramento on Sunday, Oct. 2 at the Kings former practice facility.
"When I was starting my career, I attended these types of tryouts myself," said Bighorns Head Coach Darrick Martin. "I know it's a grind and I heard from a lot of players that they wanted to come to the first set of tryouts, but didn't have enough time to get their flights booked."
During the tryout, NBA D-League hopefuls will have the opportunity to showcase their skills in front of Bighorns and Sacramento Kings staff. Players will compete to earn an invitation to the Bighorns training camp in early November. Two players (Dwayne Polee- San Diego State, Bryant Voiles- Augustana College) made the 2015-16 opening night roster from last year's tryout.
The tryout will take place on Sunday, Oct. 2 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Kings former practice facility (1 Sports Parkway, Sacramento, CA 95834).
Registration packets are available online at renobighorns.com. Players who are interested in trying out should register online and submit the official registration and release forms, in addition to a $150 non-refundable fee (money order, cashiers check) to the Reno Bighorns Front Office (50 W. Liberty Street, Suite 201, Reno, NV 89501) before Friday, Sept. 30. Players can also pay registration fees online. All participants who choose to pay online must include their payment receipt in mailing.
Late or day-of registration is increased to $200 for all entries. All payments can be made by money order, credit card, or cashier's check and be made payable to Reno Bighorns. Personal checks will not be accepted.
