Reno Bighorns News Release
Reno, Nev., March 11, 2013 - Reno Bighorns' forward Marcus Landry is out for the remainder of the season, due to an injury, the team announced today. He has been placed on the inactive list.
Landry suffered a tear of the MCL in his left knee in the Bighorns' loss last Saturday in Texas.
"The entire Bighorn's organization is saddened with Marcus' injury," said Herb Santos, Jr., Bighorns owner. "We are pleased to understand that he should have a complete recovery. Marcus sets the standard as a player. In addition to being a highly-skilled basketball player, he is a solid team leader, a superb role model, and a great husband and dad to his wonderful three children. All of our thoughts and prayers are with him for a speedy recovery. We eagerly wait for his return to Reno."
Landry, who was named to the 2013 NBA D-League All-Star team and also won the Boost Mobile 3-Point Shooting Contest at the All-Star game, was averaging 16.5 points and five rebound per game in 35 games with Reno. He was ranked fifth in the D-League in three-point field goal percentage, making 42.8% of his shots from beyond the arc.
The Bighorns will retain Landry's rights.
The team hits the road this week, heading to Santa Cruz on Tuesday, and facing Bakersfield on Friday and Saturday. The Bighorns return home on Thursday, March 21 to take on the Los Angeles D-Fenders.
