Reno Bighorns News Release
RENO, Nev.- The Reno Bighorns have acquired 6-9 forward Marcus Hubbard from the Rio Grande Valley Vipers in exchange for yesterday's second-round draft selection Haminn Quaintance, the Bighorns announced today.
After playing collegiately at Angelo State, Hubbard was a 2008 first-round NBA Development League draft selection by the Dakota Wizards. Hubbard split last season between Dakota and Rio Grande Valley, where he averaged nine points and 4.7 rebounds per game for the Vipers. Hubbard recorded a pair of double-doubles, including an 11-point, 17-rebound effort in January.
He participated in the NBA Summer League last July as a member of the NBA D-League Select squad, and went to camp with the Milwaukee Bucks this fall.
In exchange for Hubbard, the Bighorns parted ways with Quaintance, a 6-7 forward out of Kent State.
Hubbard and the rest of the Bighorns roster will report to Reno next week to begin training camp for the 2009-10 season.
