Big Weekend at Dr. Pepper Arena
November 17, 2011 - North American Hockey League (NAHL)
Texas Tornado News Release
The Texas Tornado will host the South Division-leading Amarillo Bulls this weekend at Dr Pepper Arena. These are two very important games in the standings as Texas returns home for its first home game since October 29th. This is also the first time the two teams have played since Amarillo knocked the Tornado out of last year's playoffs in April.
Friday's game will feature a pre-game ceremony to honor Tornado Head Coach and General Manager Tony Curtale on becoming the all-time winningest coach in United States Junior Hockey history. That night, the Tornado will also be hosting a canned food drive to benefit Frisco Family Services. Any fan who brings one non-perishable food item will get a complimentary ticket to that night's game.
Saturday will be Military Appreciation Night presented by ERASE Enterprises. Active, retired or reserved members of the armed forces, police and fire departments will receive a complimentary ticket with special discounts offered for family members. Tornado players will also be wearing specially designed military style jerseys. Following the game, those jerseys will be auctioned off with proceeds benefiting the Boot Campaign . Fans can join Tornado players and Ike on the ice for a post-game skate, as well.
