Big Second Half Rallies Copperheads Past Reading

The Charlotte Copperheads welcomed the visiting Reading Rockets to the Bojangles' Coliseum last Saturday night for the second time this season and for the second time this season they sent the Rockets packing back to Pennsylvania with another loss as they notched a come-from-behind 14-11 victory.
Both teams were tied at three at the end of the first quarter before Reading pulled ahead in the second outscoring the Copperheads 6-2 to enter the halftime break eith a 9-5 lead.
A big third quarter on both offense and defense for the Copperheads put control in the hands of the home team as Charlotte outscored the visiting Rockets 7-2 to enter the final period with a 12-11 lead.
Charlotte managed to tack on two more goals in the fourth while holding the Rockets scoreless to secure the win.
The Charlotte Copperheads will travel to Reading, PA this weekend for their third matchup with the Rockets this season on Friday night as they look to stay undefeated against their PLL rival.
The Copperheads won the first two matchups this season in Charlotte on October 12 and November 3 by scores of 18-11 and 14-11, respectively. The latter of the games especially had its fair share of hard hitting and aggression which is perhaps a sign of the kind of game fans can expect to see in Reading on Friday night.
"I expected Reading to come to play on Saturday and that they did. They are a talented team desperate for a win. That is a dangerous combination. We need to continue to improve and show up ready to battle," said Charlotte head coach, Tom Ryan.
