London Lightning News Release

(LONDON, ON) The Lightning where able to put together a stellar fourth quarter and pull out an 99-91 win over the visiting Windsor Express despite playing three poor quarters of basketball. London was able to overcome a 12-point third quarter deficit and outscore the Express 30-19 in the final frame. Despite their offensive struggles, the Lightning's league leading defense was able to keep the Express to under 100-points again.

The win didn't come without a price though. Point guard, Jaylon Tate, made his Lightning debut tonight, playing five minutes before injuring his ankle and sitting out the rest of the game. London would play the game with just eight players, something they've been all to familiar with this season.

Veteran Canadian, Garrett Williamson, was the steady hand for the Lightning tonight. The 6'5 guard filled the stat sheet tonight with a triple-double of 20 points, 13 rebounds and 11 assists. Second year guard, Xavier Moon, led the game with 22-points on the night. AJ Gaines (18 points, 9 rebounds), Mo Bolden (13 points, 11 rebounds), and Randy Phillips (12 points) rounded our the scoring for the Bolts.

The Lightning's five-game home-stand comes to an end Thursday when the 5-2 Island Storm come to town. For tickets to the next home game make sure to visit the Budweiser Gardens Box Office or go to www.lightningbasketball.ca.
