Biddison Hits Grand Slam, Drives in Five as Claws Roll on Sunday

WAPPINGERS FALLS, NY - The BlueClaws finished off a 5-1 week at Hudson Valley with a 10-4 win over the Renegades on Sunday. Nick Biddison hit a grand slam and drove in five.

Jersey Shore has now won nine of their last 12 games after taking four of six from Brooklyn last week at ShoreTown Ballpark. The Sunday win also marked their third straight win, the first time they have done that on the road this season.

The BlueClaws took the lead in the second on a two run triple from Tyler Pettorini. Kodey Shojinaga added a SAC fly to bring home Pettorini in the three run second inning.

Jersey Shore blew the game open in the third when Nick Biddison crushed a grand slam. It was his sixth home run of the season and the second by a BlueClaw this season (Luis Caicuto in April at Rome).

Griffin Burkholder put the BlueClaws up 8-0 with an RBI single in the top of the fourth.

Hudson Valley got on the board in the bottom of the fourth, scoring twice off Tanner Gresham.

Biddison added an RBI double in the seventh. Hudson Valley got two off Cam Hill in the bottom of the inning but never got any closer than five.

Pettorini tacked on the exclamation point with an RBI double in the top of the ninth.

Biddison finished 3-4 with five RBIs while Pettorini and Burkholder each had two hits. John Spikerman was 1-2 and drew three walks.

Gresham earned the win, allowing two runs in five innings. Gabe Craig, Jake Eddington, and Marty Gair all threw scorless innings in relief for Jersey Shore.

The BlueClaws are off on Monday and will open a six game series with Frederick from ShoreTown Ballpark on Tuesday.
