Bi-Winning: Pump Jacks Announce a Pair of Sheen-Tastic Specials

East Texas PumpJacks News Release
East Texas is far removed from the spectacular drama that swirls around Charlie Sheen these days. But that doesn ¬â¢t mean the East Texas Pump Jacks can ¬â¢t bring some of his Hollywood antics to the Piney Woods.
The Pump Jacks announced today a pair of promotions inspired by Sheen, who has become a sensational and senseless caricature of his former self in recent weeks.
Starting immediately, the Pump Jacks will offer a ¬ÅTwo and a Half Men ¬Â season ticket pack, named after Sheen ¬â¢s popular sitcom. Fans will receive three Grandstand season tickets ¬" two adult and one child ¬" for just $250. The total is a discount of $45 off the normal price for the season passes, and it saves more than 40% off the face value of the tickets. With a 30-game Pump Jacks home schedule this summer, it ¬â¢s like getting twelve games for free!
In honor of Sheen and his recent rants about winning, the Pump Jacks have also declared June 11 will be ¬ÅEverybody ¬â¢s Winning Night. ¬Â If the Pump Jacks defeat the visiting Texas Tomcats, Jacks fans will all go home happy. However, if East Texas falls to the Tomcats, everyone in attendance will receive a ticket to a game the following week. Regardless of the outcome, Jacks fans win!
Pump Jacks officials were quick to point out that June 11 wasn ¬â¢t selected at random. The date marks the 25th anniversary of the release of ¬ÅFerris Bueller ¬â¢s Day Off, ¬Â the classic 1986 film starring Matthew Broderick and directed by the late John Hughes. Sheen makes a memorable cameo in which he has been arrested for drugs and offers life advice to Ferris ¬â¢s sister Jeanie.
Sheen is no stranger to baseball, even if he believes himself to be a ¬Årock star from Mars. ¬Â He played legendary relief pitcher Rick ¬ÅWild Thing ¬Â Vaughn in the movies ¬ÅMajor League ¬Â and ¬ÅMajor League II, ¬Â as well as Black Sox co-conspirator Oscar ¬ÅHap ¬Â Felsch in ¬ÅEight Men Out. ¬Â In fact, Sheen was given an authentic Gold Glove trophy as a wedding gift when he married Denise Richards in 2002.
To celebrate Sheen as inspiration for ¬ÅEverybody ¬â¢s Winning Night, ¬Â the Pump Jacks will invite the actor to throw out the game ¬â¢s ceremonial first pitch. He will even be offered the chance to spend the game in the bullpen and relive some of his days as ¬ÅWild Thing ¬Â Vaughn ¬" as opposed to his current real-life ¬Åwild thing ¬Â escapades.
The Pump Jacks will also give Sheen the option of filming his new Internet show on location at historic Driller Park, the team ¬â¢s home ballpark. ¬ÅSheen ¬â¢s Korner ¬Â airs on the same Ustream.TV service the Jacks use to webcast all of their games, both at home and on the road.
The Jacks are no stranger to courting Hollywood celebrities. Last January, the team offered Conan O ¬â¢Brien the position of on-field emcee after Jay Leno displaced him as host of the ¬ÅTonight Show. ¬Â Despite the offer to change Pump Jacks game times to the coveted 11:35 p.m. time slot, O ¬â¢Brien opted to instead accept an offer from TBS.
Pump Jacks season tickets, including the new ¬ÅTwo and a Half Men ¬Â pack, are on sale now. Tickets can be purchased by phone at (903) 218-GO ET.
The Jacks have already announced the return of 2010 TCL Player of the Year Lee Orr and the coaching staff, all of whom led East Texas to the TCL Championship Series last year. The Pump Jacks are expected to announce new additions to this summer ¬â¢s roster later this week.
