Berry Conference Finals Schedule Announced

TEMPE, AZ (April 28, 2011) - The Berry Conference Finals will match the Bud Poile Governors' Cup Champion Allen Americans and the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs, the two top seeds in the Berry Conference. Game one of the series will be on Friday, April 29 at the Allen Event Center.
The Americans advance to the conference finals after a dramatic comeback in the semi finals where they became just the third CHL team to erase a 2-0 deficit in a best-of-5 series to win the series. The Americans comeback over the Odessa Jackalopes featured back-to-back wins in Odessa in Games 3 and 4 and a 3-1 win in the deciding Game 5. In the Opening Round, the Americans swept their way past the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees.
Bossier-Shreveport also was pushed to a deciding game in the semi finals and also had to play from behind in their series with the Tulsa Oilers. The Mudbugs fell behind in the series 1-0 and 2-1 before winning Game 4 in Tulsa in overtime and then triumphing in Game 5 by a final score of 5-4. In the Opening Round, the ¬ËBugs defeated the Arizona Sundogs four games to one.
Allen was near perfect in the regular season series against the Mudbugs winning eight of the 10 match-ups and earning points in nine of those games. Allen went 4-1 on home ice against Bossier-Shreveport.
Lack of building availability for the Mudbugs will force the series to an unconventional look with the first three games of the series being played in Allen (although in Game 3 the Mudbugs will be considered the home team).
