
Berkshire Surprises Dashers, Winning 4-3 in OT

The Danville Dashers and the Berkshire Battalion went to battle Sunday night at the David S.Palmer Arena in Danville. Berkshire struck first on a wrap-around goal from Michael Dolman a little over 4 minutes into the 1st period. Danville battled back and found themselves on a power play 10 minutes later in the period when a wrister from Gehrett Sargis found the top shelf to knot things up at one. The Dasher outshot the Battalion 20-8 in the 1st period.
The second period started off quick for Danville as Sargis got his second goal of the night to push the Dashers in the lead 2-1. Danville controlled the first 15 minutes of the 2nd, but with 3:43 left in the period Tristan Lysko found himself open in front to tie the game at two each. Danville outshot Berkshire 39-24 through the 2nd period.
Berkshire scored a quick goal out of the gate in the 3rd off the stick of Hamilton to push them infront 3-2 over Danville. Things began looking grim for Danville, but when Ryan Marcuz netted his first career goal and tied the game he electrified the David S. Palmer Arena. The Marcuz goal sent the game to overtime where the Dashers found themselves on a power play coming from the elbowing penalty against Mike McCurtain. That power play resulted in 7 shots for the dashers but Louie George made a few phenomenal saves the keep Berkshire in it. After killing the penalty Berkshire found themselves on a power play and didn't waste it. Off a pass, Martin Uhnak found himself with a open shooting lane and wired a slap shot past Matt Anthony for the win. That win pushes Berkshire to 4-2-0-8 on the season, while the Dashers fall to 4-0-3-7. The Dashers are in action again on Wednesday against the Steel City Warriors at the David S. Palmer Arena.
