Bellingham Bells News Release
The Bellingham Bells are currently accepting host family applications for the 2016 season.
During summer 2016, 35 collegiate baseball players will call Bellingham home as they compete for the Bells. The 2016 Bells roster spans the entire nation and includes players from the University of Maine, Arizona State University, University of Washington, UCLA and many others.
Host families are extremely vital to the Bells' success, and play a huge role in the player's overall experience in Bellingham. Every year, players integrate into the Bellingham community, connecting with their host families in a way that becomes a large part of their summer experience, creating memories and relationships that last a lifetime.
"Our host families are some of the best in the Pacific Northwest," said Bells' general manager Stephanie Morrell. "The way our players are welcomed each and every year is key to the experience they have in Bellingham. Relationships don't just last for the summer, but an entire lifetime. Families stay in touch with ballplayers long after they take the next step in their professional career."
Families who would like to learn more about hosting a player are encouraged to attend a brief informational session, which will include a Q&A panel with current Bellingham Bells host families. This informational meeting will be held Wednesday, March 30th at the Sheraton Four Points Hotel (714 Lakeway Drive, Bellingham). The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m.
Individuals interested in attending are encouraged to RSVP for the meeting by visiting www.bellinghambells.com/host-family-RSVP or calling (360) 527-1035.
Basic requirements for host families include providing a clean, non-smoking, safe and pleasant environment for the player and providing them with meals when they are in town. We also ask that players have a private room or sleeping area, as well as access to a bathroom, kitchen and laundry area.
All host families will receive complimentary tickets to all home games for each member of the family living at home, as well as a 50% discount on registration for the Bells' Coaches Camp for each (age appropriate) child living at home. Host families will also receive special Bells merchandise, a 20% discount on all Bells team merchandise throughout the season, an invitation to a host family celebration, and a special night at the ballpark on August 3 where the team and the community will honor host families.
For more information about how you can be involved in our host family program, please contact Bells general manager Stephanie Morrell at (360) 746-0409 or stephanie@bellinghambells.com.
