August 19, 2019 - West Coast League (WCL)
Bellingham Bells News Release
Second-year Bellingham Bells manager Bob Miller has informed the team he will be unable to return for the 2020 season. Miller, the head baseball coach at Cuesta College and a resident of Paso Robles, Calif., is leaving the Bells to spend more time with family.
Miller joined the Bells in September 2017 and led the Bells to a 60-46 record over two seasons. Miller's 2018 Bells won both the first and second half North Division championships and qualified for the WCL post-season. The 2018 Bells were also named the winner of the Jim Dietz Sportsmanship Award, which is voted on by opposing teams.
"It has been a true pleasure to work with Coach Miller over the past two seasons," Bells' general manager Stephanie Morrell said. "Bob is an experienced coach committed to developing young players, both on and off the field. He was a perfect fit for our organization and made many great contributions to our team in his two seasons here. We will certainly miss him and wish him nothing but the best."
Moving forward, Bells pitching coach & recruiting coordinator Jim Clem will continue to lead the Bells' recruiting & coaching efforts and will work closely with the Bells' front office during the off-season to immediately identify potential head coaching candidates for the 2020 season.
