Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees News Release

HIDALGO, TEXAS --- The Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees of the Central Hockey League (CHL) today announced that defensemen Nicolas Dumoulin (DOOM-yoo-lay), Dan McNeill and Jesse Perrin have signed with the team for the 2008-09 season.

Dumoulin, 23, is a rookie pro who spent the last three seasons playing for the Elmira (NY) College Soaring Eagles. He served as assistant captain last season and finished fourth overall in scoring with 30 points (12-18-30). His 12 goals were third-best on the team. The 5-foot-11, 198-pound Prevost, Quebec, native, was Elmira's rookie of the year in 2006. "He's an offensive-minded defenseman who put up good numbers in college," Killer Bees Head Coach Chris Brooks said.

McNeill returns to the Killer Bees for his second season. He was plagued by injuries last season, appearing in 42 games and collecting three assists and 48 PIM. The 26-year-old Scarborough, Ontario, native has the size (6-foot-4, 210 pounds) to provide a steady backbone in the defensive zone. "Dan struggled with injuries most of the season," said Killer Bees Assistant Coach Sean Gillam. "He showed improvement through the course of the season and really seemed to come into his own in the last month or so. We're expecting big things from him."

Perrin is a 21-year-old rookie who spent the last three seasons in the Alberta Junior Hockey League playing for the Okotoks Oilers. He was initially recruited to play at Western Michigan University before deciding to turn pro. The 6-foot-2, 202-pound Crossfield, Alberta, product finished third in scoring (9-21-30) among defensemen for the Oilers last season and added 45 PIM. Five of his goals game via the power play.

"Jesse is a two-year, first team all star in the AJHL," Brooks explained. "He's a well rounded kid with a huge upside and I'm excited to see what he can do for us this season."

The Bees open their sixth season at Dodge Arena on October 18 vs. the Rocky Mountain Rage. Season tickets are available now by calling 956-843-PUCK (7825).
