March 8, 2006 - Central Hockey League (CHL)
Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees News Release
Hidalgo, Texas --- The Central Hockey League recently polled players, coaches, and broadcasters for their top three favorites in 40 categories as part of the annual "Best of the Best Poll." The Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees were represented well, earning the nod for "Best Team Uniforms" and coming in second for "Best Team Logo."
Dodge Arena came in second for having the league's best locker rooms, while Embassy Suites McAllen was chosen as the third-best host hotel.
On the ice, Dwayne Hay was voted the second-best body checker and third-best power forward in the CHL, while Ryan Shmyr was voted as the league's second-best fighter. The Bees were also recognized as the second hardest working team in the League.
"Any time you're recognized by your peers, it means something," said Killer Bees Head Coach Tracy Egeland. "It's good to know that others around the league recognize the effort we put in night in and night out."
