Beef top Raptors, 41-30

Rock River Raptors News Release


The Omaha Beef out-scored the Rock River Raptors 20- 7 in the second quarter to take a 27-14 half-time lead and went on to a 41-30 in front of over three-thousand fans at "The Rock Pile."

Both teams are now 3-3 on the season. Omaha will have next week off before heading to Sioux Falls for a game against the Storm on May 13th. Rock River wraps up their three game homestand against the Bloomington Extreme on May 6th at "The Rock Pile." Kick-off is set for 7:30 p.m. You can catch the game on the Raptors Radio network with Andy Gannon and Kyle Jacob on ESPN-1390 "The Jock" and on 93.7 FM "The Big Easy."

Rock River took a 7-0 lead against the Beef as Ben Sankey hit Ade Adeyemo with an eight-yard scoring pass with 3:43 left in the quarter.

Omaha quickly tied the game at 7-all as they were able to go through the air as quarterback Chuck Wright connected with Mike Nizzi for an 18 yard touchdown.

The Beef extended their lead to 27-14 as they put 20 points on the board. Wright hooked up with Micah Arnold for a pair of long touchdown passes from 45 and 31 yards.

RJ Rollins also caught a 5 yard pass from Wright.

The Raptors lone second quarter score came on a 2 yard run by Randy Bell with 6:53 left in the half.

Rock River closed the gap to 34-24 as they out-scored the Beef 10-7 on Dillon Pieffer's 40-yard field goal and Sankey's six-yard run. Rollins came out of the backfield again has he caught a 15-yard pass from Wright.

Each team put up a touchdown in the final quarter. Rollins scored on a 15-yard run and Sakey hit Luke McArdle for a 39-yard scoring strike. On the night, McArdle caught seven passes for 88 yards.

Sankey ended the night completing 15 of 35 passes for 130 yards and two touchdown passes .

Rollins ended the night rushing the ball 27 times for 113 yard and also caught 3 passes for 24 yards. Rollins accounted for three of the Beef's six touchdowns.
