Bears Start Second Half with a Bang

(Newark, N.J., Jul. 5, 2010) - The Newark Bears return to Bears & Eagles Riverfront Stadium on Thursday to start their quest for a second-half Freedom Division title.  The Bears will face the Long Island Ducks in a four-game series before the Bridgeport Bluefish come to town for a three-game midweek slate on Tuesday.The Bears have been explosive at home, blasting 48 round trippers at the "Den" in the first half and collecting 14 victories.  Here's what you can expect over the seven-game home stand:

Thursday, July 8, 6:35 p.m. vs. Long Island (5:35 gates)

The Bears are back in town and face the Ducks to start the second half. It's "Thirsty Thursday", presented by Budweiser and Pepsi. Fans can enjoy their favorite beer and soda at discounted prices throughout the night while cheering on their favorite baseball team.

Friday, July 9, 7:05 p.m. vs. Long Island (6:05 gates) - The Bears are hosting Ticket Amnesty Night, which means that all unused tickets can be exchanged for premium box seat tickets as they battle the Ducks. All this is part of "Sunday Funday", presented by PSEG. The Bears and Healthfirst Health Plan of New Jersey will host their first of two July clinic dates. Tuesday, July 13, 11:05 a.m. vs. Bridgeport (10:05 gates) -

After a day-off on Monday, the Bears welcome the Bridgeport Bluefish for a three-game series. Newark will host the first camp day of the summer, as campers from around the tri-state will descend on Bears & Eagles Riverfront Stadium. Come out and cheer on your Bears in this summer weekday morning tilt.

Wednesday, July 14, 6:35 p.m. vs. Bridgeport (5:35 gates) -

The Bears and "Fish battle in the second game of the midweek series. Newark continues the "Kids Eat Free" Wednesdays, presented by Dr. Thomas Haveron. Kids 12 and under with a paid adult get to eat for free throughout the night. Free food and good baseball makes kids happy.

Thursday, July 15, 6:35 p.m. vs. Bridgeport (5:35 gates) -
