Newark Bears News Release
NEWARK, NJ - November 7, 2006 - The Newark Bears Professional Baseball Club announced today they will re-launch the little league fundraising program for New Jersey's little leagues during the 2007 season. The program was designed in 2006 to help the leagues raise money while also enjoying a night at Bears & Eagles Riverfront Stadium.
The Bears will purchase a sign to be displayed at the little league field and offer a special rate on tickets that can be resold to maximize the funds raised. In addition, the Bears and mascot Rip 'N Ruppert will make an appearance at the little league during the 2007 season.
"The little league fundraising program became successful during the 2006 season," said Bears General Manager John Brandt. "This season, the Bears look forward to expanding the program to more leagues around the area."
