Bears Announce Front Office Additions

(Newark, N.J., Jan. 13, 2010) - The Newark Bears today announced several additions to their front office as they prepare for the franchise's 12th season in the Atlantic League in 2010.

R.C. Reuteman assumes the role of General Manager and leader of day-to-day business operation of the club. The Milwaukee native possesses over 25 years of experience in the industry and has worked at nearly every level of minor league baseball. Reuteman previously served as General Manger of the Binghamton Mets (AA, Mets) and Brooklyn Cyclones (A, Mets) among others. He has earned Executive of the Year honors three times.

New Jersey native Adam Sciorsci has been named Assistant General Manager, Ticketing. Sciorsci will run the team's ticket operation after having run successful group sales departments for the Lakewood Blue Claws (A, Phillies) and Colorado Springs Sky Sox (AAA, Rockies). Corporate Sales Manager Stephen Bauer, a graduate of Georgetown University, has worked with IMG in their Business Development division and the Business Operations Department of the New York Jets, and will work with Reuteman. Business Manager/Controller Tom Phillips will handle day-to-day financials of the team and comes to Newark after seven years with Morgan Stanley. Phillips holds a Master's in Sports Business from NYU.

No stranger to the Atlantic League, David Greenwald will serve as Media Relations and Broadcasting Manager. Greenwald will also handle all 140 broadcasts on the Internet. The Long Island native has several years experience in media relations and broadcasting on both the professional and collegiate level. Sakinah Abdul-Hakeem joins the Bears as Community Relations Manager. The 2009 graduate of Howard University helped organize and execute the 2009 Atlantic League All-Star Game in Newark as well as the successful "Ford Drives U" campaign of 2008, which helped brand Ford Motors among college students.
