
BeachBoys Use Five-Run Fifth to Calm CaneFires

With the score tied at 1-1 in the bottom of the fifth inning, the Waikiki BeachBoys sent nine batters to the plate and scored five runs en route to a 6-2 triumph over the West Oahu CaneFires last night before 944 in attendance at Iron Maehara Stadium in the finale of Hawaii Winter Baseball's Maui Series.
Josh Womack drove in two runs for Waikiki (5-3) while fellow BeachBoy Michael Wilson went 2-3 with a double and RBI.
Kent Tsujimoto (1-0) earned the victory for Waikiki after working one inning of relief and striking out two. Kyohei Muranaka earned the save after pitching the game's final 2 2/3 innings without allowing a run.
Jeff Bianchi led the CaneFires (2-6) with two hits.
Both squads fly back to Oahu tomorrow, and have the day off.
