
BayHawks Rebound To Beat Mad Ants

MEADVILLE - The NBA Development League Erie BayHawks, down by as many as 17, bounced back to defeat the Fort Wayne Mad Ants in a 106-100 victory in a pre-season exhibition game held at Meadville Area Senior High School.
The BayHawks comeback was sparked off the bench by shooting guard Rod Wilmont, who notched 23 points including shooting 12 for 12 from the free throw stripe. BayHawks veterans Oliver Lafayette chipped in 14 points and Jarvis Gunter marked a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds.
The Mad Ants were down by as many as 14 points in the early going by got hot in the second quarter to go into the half tied at 49. Veteran guard Ron Howard led all scorers with 24 points. Ryan Ayers contributed 13 points including three, 3- pointers and Anthony Kent added 13 in the losing effort for the Mad Ants.
The same two teams will square off in the season opener next Friday, November 27 in Fort Wayne. Erie's home opener is set for December 12 at the Tullio Arena vs. the expansion Maine Red Claws.
Fan Fest
BayHawks players will participate in a free Fan Fest event at the Millcreek Mall, Sunday, November 22, from 1 - 3 pm. Fans can meet the players, get autographs, photos and participate in the "Golden Ticket" promotion. The first 250 people to sign up will receive a ticket they can exchange for an envelope that could contain the winning "Golden Ticket". That golden ticket is good for a pair of 2009/10 BayHawks season tickets. Everyone who enters will win a great BayHawks prize!
