ERIE - Erie BayHawks alumni Maureece Rice, Erik Daniels and Darian Townes have wrapped up their participation on NBA the Summer League rosters of the Cleveland Cavaliers, Memphis Grizzlies and Orlando Magic.
Daniels and Rice saw limited minutes with Daniels averaging 3.5 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 1 assist for the Grizzlies, while Rice averaged 2 points, 1 rebound, and 1 assist with the Cavaliers. Townes made the most of his summer league action with Orlando averaging 3.6 points and 3 rebounds, including a very strong performance of 10 points and 7 rebounds in one individual game. Townes effort earned him a slot on the Miami Heat's summer camp roster.
Darnell Jackson of the Cavaliers and Quincy Douby of the Raptors who had short stints playing with the BayHawks, also had strong showings. Jackson averaged 10.6 points, 5.4 rebounds, while Douby notched averages of 18 points, 4 rebounds, and 3.8 assists. Douby was signed to a pair of 10-day contracts before signing a full contract with the Raptors after appearing in five games for Erie.
