Erie BayHawks News Release
Erie, Pennsylvania, Monday, April 9 - The Erie BayHawks and Erie SeaWolves have teamed up in an effort to benefit Erie sports fans on Thursday night as the BayHawks open their first-round best-of-three games playoff series at Tullio Arena, and the SeaWolves play their 2012 home opener at Jerry Uht Park.
Fans who have a ticket to the 6:35 pm SeaWolves home opener can show their ticket at the Tullio Arena box office for a free Main Level ticket to the 7 pm BayHawks game, and fans with tickets to Thursday's BayHawks game can gain free admission to the SeaWolves by showing their ticket at the Jerry Uht Park box office.
"Teaming up with the SeaWolves makes sense because it's important that it be affordable and convenient for fans to be part of both our games on Thursday night," said BayHawks team president Matt Bresee. "There is always something special about the SeaWolves opening night and it's also exciting for us to be in the post-season. Fan support is crucial for both teams so hopefully this makes it easier for lots of fans to catch some of each game. It's going to be a fun night in downtown Erie on Thursday!"
"This is a unique opportunity for fans to support the BayHawks and the SeaWolves and enjoy twice the family fun," said SeaWolves team president Greg Coleman. "We're rooting for the BayHawks in their title quest and looking forward to a memorable Opening Night at the ballpark. This partnership is a true win-win for the teams and the fans alike."
The BayHawks, the No. 5 seed, square off against again the No. 2 seed Austin Toros. After Thursday's home game, the BayHawks hit the road for Game 2 of their series with Austin on Sunday at 4 pm ET, and game 3, if necessary, is set for Monday at 8:30 pm ET also in Austin.
Thursday is also the start of a seven-game homestand for the SeaWolves who face the Bowie Baysox for a four-game set before playing the Trenton Thunder in a three-game series beginning Monday.
Fans can visit either the Tullio Arena or Jerry Uht Park box offices for tickets.
