Charleston lost 2-1 in its first game of the tournament last Saturday night versus Seattle Sounders FC. Former Battery midfielder Osvaldo Alonso opened the scoring for Seattle in the 21st minute before Charleston's Colin Falvey equalized three minutes later. US men's national team defender Brad Evans converted an 88th minute penalty-kick to lift Seattle to victory.

In the other game on Wednesday night Seattle Sounders FC kept their unbeaten preseason streak alive with a 1-1 draw versus the Houston Dynamo.
