Louisville Bats News Release
LOUISVILLE, KY- The Louisville Bats today announced that Louisville Slugger Field will play host to the first ever Louisville RiverFrogs Night on Friday, July 8.
The Louisville RiverFrogs were a professional ice hockey team competing in the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL). The team was based in Louisville, Kentucky and played from 1995 to 1998. Their home venue was Broadbent Arena (nicknamed "The Swamp" for their duration) at the Kentucky Exposition Center. The Redbirds' baseball front office staff handled the day-to-day operation of the hockey team as well.
The event will feature a host of hockey-themed promotions including a hockey puck giveaway for the first 2,500 fans in attendance (sponsored by Eclipse Bank) and a ceremonial first pitch delivered by former RiverFrogs Captain and career leader in points, Sheldon Gorski. Gorski will also be available for autographs during the game. Atrium Brewing will be releasing a limited-edition beer only available on RiverFrog Night, appropriately named, the RiverFrog Goza. This beer will be available at Homerun Hops.
In-game entertainment will feature RiverFrog-themed graphics and games, and a limited amount of RiverFrogs jerseys and shirts will be available for fans to purchase (in stadium only). An in-stadium only presale for Louisville RiverFrog jerseys will also be available when supplies run out.
On July 8, the Atrium Craft Beer Ticket Pack will be rebranded to "Atrium's Powerplay Pack". Atrium's Powerplay Pack will get you game ticket + two (2) atrium brewing craft beers. Atrium's Powerplay Pack is the best opportunity to get your hands on the limited edition, RiverFrog Goza beer. The featured charity of the game will be the Louisville Ice Warriors. Louisville Ice Warriors, Inc is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.
